Tai Chi & Qigong Beginners Workshop at Klitsgras

> Qigong (or “Chi Kung”) combines movement, breath and focused visualization to create harmonious patterns of Qi (“Chi” or vital energy) throughout the body, it’s meridian- and organ-systems. The lasting effect of this patterning (with regular practice) is increased mental clarity, calmness, creativity, and overall physical and spiritual wellbeing. Qigong is a holistic healing art, and can therefore also be used on other people (even pets!) to heal and uplift.
> Tai Chi Chuan (or “Taiji”) is a martial art which is essentially the fighting cousin of Qigong. The combative movements are pr…acticed with the energetic principals of Qigong in mind – therefore resulting in the same benefits while also improving joint strength and mobility, stability, balance and injury-resilience. As a fighting art, each movement has a functional application in self-defense. Precise stances, detailed movement and combative hand- and kicking techniques, (and even weapon forms such as the fan-blade, staff, and broadsword) serve as the basis for this unique art.
Time: 11:30 – 13:30
Dates: 3 consecutive Saturdays (28 May, 4 June, 11 June)
Venue: Klitsgras drumming circle
R650 per person, R350 for children under 14. (Incl. 3 sessions of 2-hours each)

Private classes also available!
Brendan holds a 1st Dan in Shotokan Karate, and has trained in several styles of Tai chi chuan for over 8 years, while teaching at a beginners level for 3 years, in addition to teaching yoga and meditation. He has also trained in China under two masters of Shaolin Qigong- & Kungfu, and Wing Chun.
